Grand Opera House, Belfast

TOTALIS were appointed to oversee and complete the required special joinery and associated restoration works as part of the iconic refurbishment. Works involved several bespoke bars and counters, banquette seating and decorative wall paneling. This project was mutliple Winners of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Northern Ireland Award; RIBA Conservation Award 2023 and Project Architect of the Year 2023.

In 2020 the Grand Opera House embarked on its most ambitious restoration and development project in 40 years, aiming to return the beautiful 1895 auditorium to its original splendor, tell the Theatres fascinating history and improve customer facilities.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund has funded the estimated £12.2 million 10 month project to return this iconic building to its former glory and secure the future of the venue for generations to come.
